Forklift Operator

The Aurora site opened in 1997, and is located just 30 minutes south of Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Willamette Valley. The site has 37 acres of greenhouse and 3 acres of field space. In 2013, we added a 3-acre State-of-the-art glass greenhouse which has allowed the facility to repurpose 40,000 gallons of water every day helping to reduce our carbon footprint.

JOB SUMMARY


  • Safely operate specialized forklifts to move newly transplanted pots and flats from transplant lines to lay down locations in greenhouse ranges and fields. Work according to production schedule. Deliver pots and flats according to inventory lay down instructions. When needed support production and receiving staff with back up forklift and other qualified operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Safely and efficiently drive forklift to remove blocks of newly transplanted containers from transplant line buffer belts to designated lay down locations in greenhouses and fields
  • Close communication with transplant line Leads regarding lay down locations

COMPETENCIES


  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate and work well with other team members in order to accurately and safely accomplish goals
  • Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends seasonally

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Work long hours as needed during busy season, including weekends.
  • Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot.

PAY RANGE


  • $19-$22 per hour
  • $16-$18
  • $19.5 - $21.5
