Production Supervisor
Pacific Plug & Liner was founded in October 1999 and is located on the beautiful California Central Coast with a climate ideal for plant and flower production. We have approximately 290,000 sq. ft. dedicated to growing young plants. Pacific Plug & Liner features a state-of-the-art production facility, ensuring consistent and superior quality.
JOB SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor oversees daily production operations in a greenhouse facility. This role is responsible for supervising, training, and motivating production staff to achieve labor efficiency and meet or exceed industry performance standards. The Production Supervisor fosters a positive leadership environment focused on teamwork, productivity, and continuous improvement. A key focus of this position is ensuring customer satisfaction by maintaining high product quality and ensuring timely, accurate order fulfillment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervise and support Crew Leads in the areas of Vegetative Sticking, Seed Sowing, Patching, Trimming/Pinching, Weeding and Stock Plant management.
- Ensure necessary materials such as trays, soil, and other supplies are stocked, prepared, and ready for daily production needs.
- Conduct monthly inventory audits by accurately inventorying materials, stock plants, and related supplies.
- Utilize reports from the Picas database to monitor production schedules and labor requirements.
- Track and analyze labor efficiency, comparing performance against established standard rates to ensure optimal productivity.
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to the Leads of Sticking, Sowing, Patching, Trimming/Pinching, Weeding and Stock Plant teams.
- Uphold a high standard of performance by demonstrating attention to detail and ensuring accurate execution of production plans.
- Monitor daily production operations to quickly identify, address, and resolve any issues related to staffing, scheduling, or product quality.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by supporting and enforcing company safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure that employees are clocking into correct dockets for labor tracking and approve payroll hours.

- Quality Focus: Consistently monitors and maintains high product quality to meet customer satisfaction standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using production management software (such as Picas) and generating reports to support decision-making. Comfortable using Excel, PDFs, Word and email.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the horticultural industry or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing teams and overseeing multiple production processes, such as vegetative sticking, seed sowing, and stock plant management.
- Strong understanding of greenhouse operations, plant care, and production methods.
- Bilingual (Spanish) required to effectively communicate with staff and team member
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Continuous walking and standing for extended periods of time throughout the shift.
- Regularly lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations typical of a greenhouse setting.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, machinery, and small components.
PAY RANGE
$70 - $80K
- $17-$18.50 Per Hour
- $21.00 - $23.00
