Select and transfer potted plants from outdoor fields for orders.

• Select best quality plants to place in flats (selecting plants can include lifting potted plants up from the floor or from tables and placing on trailers to be moved to the staging area.)
• Clean and trim selected plants if needed
• Check pots for labels and tags or possibly re-label pots or plants
• Assist in planting, maintaining, moving, and spacing plants when needed
• Can assist with watering or other areas during slower times of the year
• Transport flatted pots or baskets to staging area
• Operate tractor, forklift and other equipment when properly trained and certified
• Assist with repairing fields to include replacing ground cover and irrigation pipes
• General labor duties will aslo inclue cutting grass, pulling and pushing loaded trailers

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing, in person, and via phone or radio with all levels of staff.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, both verbal and written.
• Ability to distinguish different plant types

• With proper training, may be asked to drive tractors that pull the selecting trailers
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Self-motivated
• Reliable and punctual

• Work long hours as needed during busy season, including weekends.
• Continuously walk, stand, bend, kneel (and remain working below knee-level) as well as reaching overhead, and from side to side for long periods of time.
• Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
• Will be working in all tempratures including rainy and hot days.
• Lift up to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot.
