Site Manager
The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.
JOB SUMMARY
The Site Manager is responsible for the development of the leaders and processes at the Bellingham Facility. Responsible for ongoing development of best practices, strategy, and projects. Success is measured through development of the team and improvement in operations and efficiency. Primary production lines are premium annuals, hanging baskets and poinsettias. Reports include managers of HR, Production, Shipping, Maintenance and the Head Grower.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Leadership of Site Management team and activities
- Collaboration of strategic direction with department directors and COO
- Monitor daily operations
- Promotion of a team approach, assuring a great place to work
- Develop and train staff through coaching and performance management
- Support continuous improvement culture and best practice development
- Operate with high integrity, adhering to company standards and values
- Promote a safe work environment, upholding company safety policies and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of progressive industry experience, 5 years managerial level preferred
- Degree in Horticulture, related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in budgeting and cost analysis/control
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Seasonally busy during April/May
- Office environment 75%
- Greenhouse environment 25%
PAY RATE
$90,000-$110,000 a year
- $17-$18.50 Per Hour
- $21.00 - $23.00
