The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for organizing, maintaining, and managing a system of plant identification tags, labels, and databases used . This role ensures that departments are provided with correct identified tags and shipping supplies. With accuracy in documentation for inventory. Assists with online orders process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operate mobile equipment when necessary
- Prints, organize, and maintain plant tags and labels.
- Receive and check in all incoming tag orders
- Ensure the accuracy of plant tags for inventory
- Ensure all records are accurate, searchable and regularly updated.
- Ensure tags meet industry standards for reliability and durability.
- Supply stations and teams with accurate UPC’s, labels, and tags daily, replenish as needed
- Communicate any tagging errors, inconsistencies, or issues related.
- Assists with inner company transfers.
- Maintain tagging equipment, printers, and software to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in month-end and year-end audit
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Conduct yourself with high level integrity, adhering to Company standards and values
- Promote a safe work environment, upholding company safety policies and procedures
- Ability to cross train in other areas and serve as backup for other positions when necessary
- Attend and participate in meetings and training's as assigned
- Assist online orders job functions

- Familiarity with software tools for database management, tag creation, and printing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Plant knowledge preferred
- Experience with MS Office Suite.
- Intermediate Math skills
- Ability to read and write in English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work long hours as needed. Including weekends and holidays.
- Continuously walk, stand, squat, kneel (and remain working below knee-level) as well as reaching overhead, and from side to side for long periods of time.
- Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions
- Lift up to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot.
PAY RANGE
$19.5 - $20.50 per hour
- $17-$18.50 Per Hour
- $21.00 - $23.00
