Transplanting Supervisor
The Aurora site opened in 1997, and is located just 30 minutes south of Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Willamette Valley. The site has 37 acres of greenhouse and 3 acres of field space. In 2013, we added a 3-acre State-of-the-art glass greenhouse which has allowed the facility to repurpose 40,000 gallons of water every day helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
JOB SUMMARY
The Transplanting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to transplanting operations. This role ensures that schedules are executed efficiently and accurately, quality standards are upheld, and team members receive proper training. The supervisor collaborates closely with other departments to maintain a smooth workflow and support overall production goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Organize daily work assignments based on production needs.
- Monitor and maintain transplanting quality standards and correct any inconsistencies in real-time.
- Ensure the proper operations and maintenance of transplanting machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure prompt response to equipment issues and support routine and preventative maintenance & inspections.
- Track plant counts, productivity, labor hours, laydown method & locations and any discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with growers, production planners, and receiving to align transplanting operations with productions goals and inventory needs.
- Ensure the department has adequate staffing and that lines are maintained.
- Maintain a record of target rates and communicate the results to crew and leadership.
- Collaborate with the soil room to ensure proper soil mix.
- Provide performance feedback, continuous improvements and contribute to team development.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent agriculture, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within production, agricultural, or greenhouse environment.
- Familiarity with transplanting equipment and processes, including automated systems.
- Knowledge of inventory and production tracking systems.
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, outlook and Word).
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work long hours as needed during the busy season, including weekends.
- Work in both an office and warehouse environment.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments under variable seasonal conditions.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly.
PAY RANGE
$65,000 - $75,000 per year
- $17-$18.50 Per Hour
- $25.50 - 27.50
