Production Tech Operator

Bellingham, WA (Facility)

The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.

JOB SUMMARY

Operate and troubleshoot the production equipment. Support and backup the receiving, soil and production team as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work closely with the Production Supervisor to understand daily transplant schedule.
Responsible for performing basic preventive maintenance as well as general housekeeping duties on the equipment daily.
Notify Production Supervisor and Maintenance Department of any equipment repairs required or issues.
Provide backup for transplanting and mobile operating.
Assist receiving materials delivered to site when needed.
Asist with inventory count when needed.
Effectively communicates needs and concerns to other department leadership
Keep work area clean and organized
Operate mobile equipment
Conduct yourself with high level integrity, adhering to Company standards and values
Promote a safe work environment, upholding company safety policies and procedures
Ability to cross train in other areas and serve as backup for other positions when necessary
Attend and participate in meetings and trainings as assigned
Train Staff when necessary

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Basic experience and skills computer programs, emphasis with databases.
• Intermediate Math skills as needed
• Must be 18+ years old
• Must work well in a team environment
• Wiling to work long days or weeks
• Must be Detailed and safety oriented
• Ability to read and write in English
• Able to operate mobile equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work long hours as needed during busy season, including weekends.
Continuously walk, stand, bend, kneel (and remain working below knee-level) as well as reaching overhead, and from side to side for long periods of time.
Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
Lift up to 50 pounds

PAY RANGE

$20-$22 per hour

$17.00 to $18.50

$24.50 - $26.50
