Production Coordinator

Bellingham, WA (Facility)

The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.

JOB SUMMARY


Supports Production Manager in data collection, inventory verification, and administrative tasks. Analyzes and implements daily tasks in relation to rates and standard for Production Crews.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Utilize inventory management software to track inventory of hardgoods and green goods.
  • Update Plan Versus Actual (PVA) file.
  • Analyze workflow of transplanting line and moving processes.
  • Develop flow diagram for each item produced.
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support manager by printing reports, verifying, communicating projects, researching, organizing, and scheduling tasks.
  • Effectively communicates needs and concerns to other department leadership.
  • Conduct yourself with high level integrity, adhering to Company standards and values.
  • Promote a safe work environment, upholding company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to cross train in other areas and serve as backup for other positions when necessary.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training courses as assigned.
  • Train and develop staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • 1-2 years' experience in a production or agriculture environment preferred.
  • Strong experience and skills computer programs, emphasis with databases.
  • Intermediate Math skills as needed.
  • Ability to read and write in English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Work long hours as needed. Including weekends and holidays.
  • Continuously walk, stand, squat, kneel (and remain working below knee-level) as well as reaching overhead, and from side to side for long periods of time.
  • Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
  • Lift to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot.

PAY RANGE


$20 - $21.5 per hour

  • $16-$18
  • $19.5 - $21.5
