The Bellingham facility, established in 1901, is the original site of Smith Gardens. The site sits on 40 acres of greenhouse and outside growing area.

JOB SUMMARY


The Maintenance Technician 3/ Supervisor is responsible for supporting maintenance activities of the facility. This role involves supervising a team of maintenance technicians , ensuring equipment and machinery are properly maintained and operating efficiently. The supervisor coordinates preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks, while prioritizing safety and compliance with industry standards. They are responsible for maintaining maintenance logs and scheduling work orders. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and to address any urgent maintenance needs promptly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Supervising maintenance personnel, assigning tasks, providing training, and evaluating performance.
  • Ensure that staff follow proper safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Schedule and performpreventive maintenance, repair tasks, and work orders to ensure the facility operates efficiently.
  • Oversee and perform regular inspection and maintenance of all equipment, systems, and machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, codes, and company policies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and procure necessary parts and supplies.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records, including service history, repair orders, and equipment performance data.
  • Leads response to maintenance emergencies, such as equipment breakdowns or facility issues, ensuring prompt action to minimize downtime.
  • Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and overall facility operations.
  • Attend and facilitate meetings and training's as assigned.

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Effectively communicate instructions to maintenance team, other departments and vendors.
  • Use available resources creatively to resolve issues.
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed thoroughly, complying with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Adjust to changing priorities, emergency repairs, or urgent facility needs.
  • Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and best practices in the field of maintenance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • High school diploma/GED and one year of assignment-related maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance or facilities role.
  • Previous involvement in developing, implementing, and managing preventive maintenance schedules and programs is highly valuable.
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, VFD, PLC, construction experience preferred.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Basic math proficiently.
  • Ability to read and write basic English.
  • Comfortable with various technologies and computer software's.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Work long hours as needed. Including weekends and holidays.
  • Continuously walk, stand, squat, kneel (and remain working below knee-level) as well as reaching overhead, from heights and from side to side for long periods of time.
  • Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds in an environment that is often hot.

PAY RANGE


$25-$29 per hour

  • $16-$18
  • $22.50-$25.50 Per hour
