Staging Staff
Pacific Plug & Liner was founded in October 1999 and is located on the beautiful California Central Coast with a climate ideal for plant and flower production. We have approximately 290,000 sq. ft. dedicated to growing young plants. Pacific Plug & Liner features a state-of-the-art production facility, ensuring consistent and superior quality.
JOB SUMMARY
Arrange selected trays of plants onto racks, pallets or boxes as per orders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Verify plant counts prior to packing
- Add netting to trays shipping in boxes to preserve plant integrity.
- Use inserts, boxes, pallet shelves, racks as instructed by supervisor.
- Safely operate air tools such as box stapler
- Position empty racks in a designated area in preparation for plant placement (adjustment of shelves)
- Contribute to maintaining or exceeding established staging trays per hour rate
- Move flats of plants from tables onto designated racks
- Monitor quality of plants as staged onto racks or boxes
- Push or pull empty or full racks of plants on to trailers
- Check for missing plant cells or poor quality and report to supervisor
- Use handheld scanner and/or computer as required
- Keeping work area clean and organized
- Operate heavy equipment (such as a pallet jack) to move racks
- Participate in weekly 6s activities
COMPETENCIES
- Attention to Detail – Ability to accurately track and record inventory levels; identify discrepancies, and ensure data integrity.
- Organizational Skills - Efficiently manage and categorize inventory items.
- Analytical Skills:- Ability to analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Communication Skills:- Ability to report issues, provide updates, and coordinate with others to resolve inventory-related matters.
- Technical Proficiency:- ability to use barcode scanners, inventory tracking systems, and other relevant tools.
- Time Management:- Balance multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: - Coordinate with other departments to align inventory management with overall greenhouse operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Experience in greenhouse or nursery environment preferred
- Plant knowledge preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work long hours as needed during the busy season, including weekends.
- Work in both an office and warehouse environment.
- Work indoors and outdoors, in seasonal temperatures and conditions.
PAY RANGE
$17.25 - $17.75 per hour
- $17-$18.50 Per Hour
- $24-$26
