CTF RECAP!

Another Successful Season of Donations and Tours for the Cultivating the Future program. Kim Bowthorpe, a tenured SGI team member, leads, manages, orders, and executes the entire program and has been a busy bee this spring.

She delivered young plants to 14 high school Horticulture programs this year! The young plants will be used to educate students on how annuals are finished in various sized containers. Once finished the product will be sold at the school’s annual Mother’s Day sale, with profits used to support the program.

CTF is a shining light here at Smith Gardens and every time you ask Kim to talk about it, she literally lights up. There is nothing more that she enjoys then seeing the happy and excited faces on all the students and teachers. Kim is at the forefront of spreading the joy of gardening to the next generation and Smith Gardens could not be more proud of her work.

Each year the program continues to grow, and we will not stop until we have Horticulture programs in every school possible throughout Washington and Oregon! Go big or go home, Kim always says!

Here at Smith Gardens, OUR BUSINESS IS GROWING! Not just plants for our customers but growing the love and joy of gardening to everyone we can, especially the next generation gardener. You are never too young to get your hands dirty.

Stay tuned, Kim B. will be out and about checking on the finished product and chatting with students and teachers about how the season is going!
