Ian Patric

Ian has been an outstanding steward of the Aurora facility, diligently managing our use of material resources. Notable examples include the implantation of Evofactor, which has significantly reduced our fertilizer usage, as well as his advocacy for a pre-filtration system that will help us cut down on costly filter paper. Ian has also spearheaded initiatives to preserve the Aurora facility, such as algae control in our Erfgoed system and enhancements to our irrigation systems. Additionally, he is a strong supporter of “soft on the earth” pest and disease control options, lessening the environmental impact of our work.

Ian you are a true definition of STEWARDSHIP and we are grateful to have you on our team.

Thomas Ingram

Tom was asked to develop a CI and Safety Fair at the AU farm this past August. This was a first-time event and created many challenges, the main one being that Tom needed to influence team members from all departments who each had differing priorities. Tom planned, coached and supported each participant, resulting in everyone collaborating and actively engaging their own CI displays, improving company culture and giving a sense of accomplishment and pride as they presented the result to our visitors.

Tom, you are a true definition of our value PEOPLE and we are grateful to have you on our team!

Jesus Pizeno

Jesus represents the true spirit of Continuous Improvement at PP&L. Ever curious, Jesus is frequently developing and conducting experiments in the greenhouse. Jesus frequently references being inspired by industry publications he has read, often on his own time. In the past year he has earned his Private Applicator license, been promoted to Section Grower 3 an enrolled in the American Hort Certified Section Grower Program. He has been coaching and training our less experienced growers and irrigators in growing practices to ensure our trajectory in one of success.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate Jesus, his initiative, curiosity and CI mindset!

Mariana Ventura-Gonzalez

Mariana consistently exceeds expectations by maintaining an immaculate and welcoming environment at the Bellingham site. Beyond her regular duties, she takes initiative by addressing issues before they arise, such as spotting maintenance needs or ensuring high-traffic areas are always clean during peak times. What truly sets her apart is her flexibility, knowledge within all departments and teamwork. She seamlessly steps into other roles when needed, weather assisting with production, shipping and taking initiative to learn to drive all site equipment to support the maintenance team or helping other departments in a pinch. Her proactive attitude and dedication make her an invaluable asset to Smith Gardens and provides outstanding stewardship our entire facility.

Thank you Marina for your continued support and focus on STEWARDSHIP!

Jenna McAleer

Jenna’s passion for detail continues to shine every day in her work. In the years leading up to our ERP implementation, Jenna led the core team’s effort with regular meetings in a consistent, clear, and upbeat fashion. Despite numerous challenges and changes post launch, jenna continues to be an integral part of the team. She foresees issues before they arise, and patiently seeks their solution. Her focus on details combined with her kindness clearly displays her passion not only for her work, but the people she works with. We are grateful to have Jenna on our team.

Thank you Jenna for your continued support and focus on PASSION!
